The beautiful singer and presenter Nandi Madida will host the second season of Coke Studio which starts on Saturday, 27 August at 6:05PM.
Coke Studio is a music-based reality show and viewers will get to see some of South Africa’s most popular artists as they collaborate to create hit songs from scratch.
Here are nine facts about Nandi you probably didn’t know:
1. Her parents named her after the African Queen Nandi.
2. She was born in the rural town of Maphumulo and raised in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
3. Her father is a doctor and her mother a lawyer.
4. When Nandi was eight years old, she won the Junior Miss South Africa pageant.
5. She hosted the SABC2 pre-teen entertainment show Bling in 2004.
6. Nandi wanted to pursue a career in journalism, but instead decided to study law - first at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and later at Varsity College.
7. She rose to fame with the 2011 release of her single “Tonight”, which she wrote and had produced by DJ Franky.
8. In 2012 she signed a deal with Universal Music and released her first self-titled album NANDI.
9. She’s also a fashion designer and was recently listed on both Elle US and E! News red carpet best dressed lists.
10. Nandi and her husband, Zakes Bantwini, recently revealed that they are expecting their first child together.
