What better time to make a positive change than at the beginning of a new year!
We asked some of our favourite Rhythm City celebs what their New Year’s resolutions are and how they plan on ringing in the New Year.
Here’s what they had to say.
Nolo Phiri
My New Year’s resolution for 2017 is to be a bit kinder to myself. I want to be a bit more open to new opportunities, possibilities, relationships and work. I’d also like to take things a bit slower.
I’m going to be spending New Year’s Eve with my grandmother in Limpopo. I’m going to be doing everything that she wants to do so I’m probably just going to be spending a lot of time chilling with her under a tree and just chatting.
Magi Williams
In 2017 I want to develop the youth more. I teach drama to children in my community so I intend to do more community work since the youth is so troubled with things like drugs and child abuse. I want to contribute more to our community and our youth.
I plan on going to Durban with my friends and spending New Year’s Eve on the beach.
Mzamo Gcabashe
I want to be more fabulous than I already am, I don’t even know if that’s possible, but I’ll try (Laughs). You can never have enough money, so I want to make more money. I want to have more fun, I think I take myself too seriously even though it doesn’t appear that way.
I’m going to be spending New Year’s Eve in Cape Town. It’s become a tradition for me and my friends to go to Cape Town at the end of the year and attend all the major parties.
Itumeleng Bokaba
I’ve been working really hard on my music, so in 2017 I want to take it a lot more seriously. My birthday is on the third of January so from New Year’s Eve until my birthday, I’m attending a lot of parties with my friends.
Tebogo Khalo
I don’t have any New Year’s resolutions because I don’t really believe in them. I just like the surprise that comes with a New Year. I’m looking forward to something different and unknown. I’m not big on New Year’s eve celebrations. I prefer celebrating on the 1st of January by having a small braai with family and friends.
