Our girl sure has come a long way since the homeless pick-pocketer we met in season 1. Z’bondiwe Tuesdays at 9:30PM.
Do you remember Dikki from season 1? She was this scraggily young, homeless girl who pick-pocketed strangers just to get by, with her alcoholic mother always weighing her down.
We rejoiced when Axe became her knight in shining armor, saving her from life on the streets.
And cried with her when Lebo did the unthinkable and raped her. She fell pregnant with his baby and subsequently shot herself in the stomach rather than give birth to his child.
Sure she was gutsy and we could always see how strong she really is. But we felt sorry for her more than anything.
How the times have changed! Today, Dikeledi Bokoba is a force to be reckoned with.
She’s running the tavern with an iron first.
The girl knows how to make drug deals with Russians like a true crime boss.
And not to mention how she puts the fear of God in all of her employees.
We know crime is never the answer and would never encourage anyone to go down the destructive path. But we have to admit, as entertainment alone, seeing a woman’s come up is always empowering.
Even if the glow up is crime-related. We can’t help but go YAAS every time Dikki is being a boss on screen.
