Red suspects that no. 101 on the blacklist, a genetic scientist, Eric Trettel, helped the Madrczyks escape. Trettel tracks down and kills Pytor’s wife. He then poses as his lawyer so he can get to Pytor and kill him, too.
Liz tracks down Molly Trettel and their diabetic eight-year-old daughter, Annie. Only to find out that Molly and Annie have been murdered. She orders a DNA workup that proves the bodies are doubles and that they’ve actually been kidnapped.
After he has been caught, Trettel offers to turn over the names of the criminals he’s helped escape in exchange for his freedom.
