He’s just a few weeks old, but baby Nqobimpi has already been through a lot! Rhythm City, weekdays at 7PM.

So it’s no surprise that Suffo has chosen to name him – Nqobimpi. It’s a Zulu name which means war conqueror – and we absolutely love it!

The name is also deeply connected to Suffo’s real name – Manqoba which means conqueror. Puleng went through a lot to bring Nqobimpi into this world. She was heavily pregnant when Themba kidnapped her and went into stress induced labour, while stuck in a shack in the middle of nowhere.

Thank goodness for Niki, who showed up just in time to deliver Nqobimpi.

Nqobi was healthy, but not happy. He cried all the time while Puleng suffered with postpartum depression. Puleng was so depressed that she didn’t even want to name him.

Everything changed when Suffo got hold of the paternity test results. He rushed to KwaZulu-Natal where his family was having an Imbeleko ceremony. He embraced Puleng and named his son – Nqobimpi.

What a strong name.

Welcome to the Rhythm City family, Nqobi!
