Shakira’s rival, Precious returns to Scandal. Will she take on Shakira? We chat to actress Florence Masebe who plays Precious.
If there’s another woman who’s as conniving and manipulative as Shakira and Thembeka, it has to be Precious. She’s got nothing to lose and is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants. She almost snatched Daniel from Shakira, going as far as moving into their home even though she was just Daniel’s mistress.
Precious has been in the midst of endless drama and with her brief absence now over, she’s back to take on her two biggest enemies, Thembeka and Shakira.
We chat to Florence Masebe about Precious’ return, her new man and more.
Precious seems smart, why does she resort to using underhanded tactics to get ahead?
She wants to get a bigger slice of everything I suppose. She wants to be in charge, so she’s not going to take the long route. She’s a schemer at heart. She likes being above everybody else. When she met her new man who is now her fiancé, she calmed down a bit. She vowed she didn’t want to do any of that anymore, but she has a weakness which is Daniel.
What is the reason for her return?
She’s just in town with her husband who wants to spend time with his daughter there. Initially she has no intentions to stay or go back to NFH.
Will she take on Shakira or Thembeka when she arrives?
She comes back quite victorious. She’s got an ace up her sleeve. She’s engaged to the most powerful man and she’s very comfortable with that until she discovers whose father he is. Everything is rosy and perfect until she meets the daughter of the man she wants to marry. She’s there to show off that she’s got a wealthier and richer man. She rubs it in Shakira’s face a bit.
Precious had a steamy affair with Daniel, is she still in love with him?
She’s always been in love with Daniel. But she does not want to express it until she’s absolutely sure he feels the same way. He tries to prove that he still has feelings for her and for a while she wants him to leave her alone because she’s happy. But deep down she wants to be loved. It’s very important for her. It used it be with anyone but now it has to be Daniel.
Daniel humiliated her the last time, would she ever get back together with him?
When she comes back she’s the guilty one. She’s the one that tried to take over his company. She’s the one that must be forgiven. She’s the one who has to make sure there are no hard feelings. She does try to put the blame on him that he didn’t contact her but the man was kidnapped.
What does the future hold for Precious?
Madness. There’ll be a lot of fighting, a lot of scheming. There’ll be a lot of drama between her and Daniel, between her and Thembeka and between her and Shakira.
Will she survive this drama?
She always survives. She’ll go over the edge a little bit but she still survives.
