The long-running super-soapie Days of our Lives has found a new South African home on e.tv and eHD starting from Monday, 4 September at 5:30PM.
The show, which has entertained audiences around the world since 1965 by chronicling the antics of the residents of the fictitious town of Salem, brings a history of over 50 years of mystery, intrigue and drama to e.tv and eHD viewers.
‘Days’, as it’s affectionately known, tells the story of 3 main families: the Bradys, the Hortons and the DiMeras. The multi-layered storylines involve everything that has defined the soap opera genre - romance, adventure, mystery, comedy and drama.
“We continue to add world-class entertainment to the e.tv lineup, and by adding a multi award-winning show like Days of our Lives, we not only give our current viewers a daily dose of quality drama, but we also give the die-hard fans of the show a new home to get their fix of Days,” says Managing Director for e.tv, Marlon Davids.
"Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." For half a century, those words have introduced and underscored one of daytime drama's rare mainstays. NBC's Days of our Lives, which turned 51 in November 2016, first premiered as a half-hour drama in 1965 and expanded to an hour 10 years later.
The soapie will start at episode 12368 on e.tv and eHD. The episode picks up where Nicole tries her best to clear Eric's name, Ben and Jordan discuss their past and Kate is stunned when she learns the details of Clyde's connection to Jordan and Ben.
The show has garnered 43 Daytime Emmy Awards, including 2015's Outstanding Daytime Drama, and 298 nominations, as well as multiple People's Choice Awards, GLAAD Media Awards and Prism Awards. The show also airs nationally on NBC in the United States and several countries internationally.
Days of our Lives comes to e.tv and eHD on OpenView HD (Channel 104). Also available on DStv (Channel 194) from Monday, 4 September.
Viewers can also look forward to an omnibus every Sunday on eExtra – OpenView HD channel 105.
