We chat to the beautiful Forgive & Forget presenter about confidence, beauty routines and forgiveness.

True Love magazine named her as one of their “Women on Top” and she’s been crowned Miss Soweto, Miss Teen Gauteng and Miss Eldorado Park. At the age of 18 she owned and managed Figures Academy of Modelling and Personal Development in Rosebank, Joburg. Today, at age 31, Doris Msibi is a TV host, the founder of SA Image Institute and Vice President of the Woman in Need Foundation SA.  She’s been married for eight years and is a mother of three kids aged eight, three and one.

Why do you think Forgive & Forget is so popular?
I believe that the show is popular because it deals with everyday life issues.

What do you personally regard as unforgivable?
I personally do not believe in un-forgiveness at all. Forgiveness is a choice and choosing not to forgive someone only hurts you and may even destroy you.

You’re an image consultant, what does that mean?
I teach people how to be their best through managing how they come across to others and how they are perceived in their personal and professional lives.

What are the three things women can do to appear more confident and improve their image?
Take care to always look well groomed and dress to suit your body shape and structure. Secondly, walk tall with grace and smile more.  Lastly, communicate sincerely with others and show genuine interest.

How do you start your day?
I am not a morning person, but I still try to get up as early as 5AM while my house is still quiet.  This gives me two hours on my own to prepare for my day.

What are your beauty, diet and exercise routines like?
I follow a 3-step beauty routine daily with my cleanser, toner and moisturizer and I also have a facial treatment every four weeks. I love good food and eat everything but I am still careful to ensure that I have at least three balanced meals a day. I also swim and do Pilates weekly.

When your confidence has taken a knock, what do you do to pick yourself up and carry on?
I go back to my source and creator through meditation. That way I am able to reconnect with myself and regain my power from within.

To what do you attribute your success?
I attribute my success to obedience and faith. I believe that my path was carved out way before I was born. I am simply here to play my role and that I achieve through obedience to what I believe to be my purpose.

What is the number one mantra that you live by?
“Do not forget the purpose of prosperity." This reminds me of the importance of pulling others along with you as you achieve certain things. Also that success comes with a huge responsibility to uplift others.
