The Reality Check stars face their toughest challenge yet when they head to Alexandra to tackle the littering problem in the community.
In Reality Check: Anti-Littering Campaign, Khanyi, Babalwa and Nonhle travel to Alexandra to meet with Mveledzo, a community program aimed at cleaning up the Jukskei River that runs through the township.
Babalwa received the SMS and before she could even finish, Khanyi walked out. “I walked out before I heard the rest, because I knew it was going to be bad.”
Babalwa begged Nonhle to go ahead without her, “I was actually hoping that the girls would leave me behind at the headquarters.”
In the car Nonhle asks Khanyi how she’s going to handle the task, Khanyi replies, “I’m going to pay someone. Today is the day that you see me outsource!”
The women head to Alex FM and use their star power to encourage the community to help clean up the river. But oops, where is their chauffeur? The stars are forced to walk the dusty streets of Alex in high heels, but not without moans and groans….
And then it’s a quick change into overalls before Khanyi, Babalwa and Nonhle join the community members at the Juskei River bank. But with everything from dirty nappies to maggots and rotten food littering the bank, the women are pushed to their limits, “When we walked into the river it was hell.”
Can they push through and complete the challenge or have they finally succumbed to the ultimate reality check? Here is a look at what the girls had to endure:
