Dumi’s last day on-screen as Sifiso on Rhythm City will be on Wednesday, 11 October.
After extensive consultation with the Masilela family, the producers of Rhythm Cityhave decided to incorporate Dumi’s tragic death into the exit storyline of his character, Sifiso.
This is to highlight the scourge of violence that is sadly so prevalent in South Africa. Sifiso will be involved in a hijacking, resulting in his death. The viewers won’t see the hijacking, but it will be reported by Shakes.
As a special tribute, there will also be an on-screen memorial service on Wednesday, 18 October. The episode also features Dumi’s real-life Mother Sabatha Magdeline Masilela and brother Thabani Masilela attending the memorial.
