We recap Thursday’s episode of SA’s Got Talent which got off to a cold and rocky start.
The most controversial opinion of the night came from Kabelo who felt singing group, Blue Flame, didn’t look the part. Fans on Twitter and Facebook were divided – some felt his comments were fair, while others disagreed with him.
Rabia C Barbier, Facebook: “I think kabelos comment about their appearance was unruly and cold.”
Philisiwe Nzimande Dlamini, Facebook: “I as a fully figured women i agree.its like bebevuka ekulaleni n they sounded very bad...”
Cindy Lee, Facebook: “It was uncalled for, but he's a part of the music industry and he knows what's marketable…they'll take his comment about dressing for their size as constructive criticism.”
Luzuko Namba from Mqanduli in the Eastern Cape received a standing ovation as he impressed the judges and the audience with his dance moves. Shado said it felt as if she was dancing on stage. Kabelo told Luzuko that as he progressed he started to feel himself even more and he knew he had the judges and the audience in the palm of his hands. @Oagengdireng tweeted: “Luzuko made me drop a tear.”
Although Ian wasn’t impressed with the rappers he had a change of heart when Megan Steenkamp from Cape Town showed her rapping skills. Ian told her that she has a laidback combination of street and unaggressive charm. Shado said she’s got the whole package and that she is going to do well in the competition. @Its_Only_Craig tweeted: “miss patty monroe killed it on GoodHopeFM and she killed it 2night. That girl can rap though!”
Cindy-Ann Abrahams, an opera singer from Strandfontein, had Shado in tears. Shado told her that she saw her overcome something on stage. Ian told her she moves people and that she’s gorgeous. @MarkhamLance tweeted: “cindy ann Abraham was definitely my favorite tonight.”
