The veteran musician was only 47 years old when he died on Christmas Day. This comes after he was admitted in hospital for a month in June where he was diagnosed with iron deficiency and anaemia.

The multi award winning gospel artist died on the 27th of January after spending four weeks in hospital battling stomach TB and a liver condition. He was 38
Joost van der Westhuizen
The rugby legend died on the 6th of February at the age of 45. He had motor neurone disease.
Joe Mafela
On the 18th of March a car accident claimed the life of the 75-year-old veteran actor.
Jabu Kubheka
Popularly known as “Gunman”, the actor who appeared on shows such as Yizo Yizo and Gold Diggersdied in a suspected suicide on 12 June. He was 48.
Ray Phiri
After a long battle with lung cancer, the jazz legend died on 12 July at the age of 70.
Iko Mash
The former Rhythm City actor died on the 21st of July after a struggle with cancer.
Anthony Motaung
The Kwaito star who was popularly known as Tsekeleke succumbed to diabetes on Tuesday, 1 August.
Dumi Masilela
The Rhythm City actor died after being shot in an attempted hijacking in Tembisa on 2 August. He was 29.
Mary Makgatho
The former Rhythm City actress died on Monday, 7 August after suffering complications following a fall in July. She was 51.
