Investigating the biggest abalone syndicate bust in SA history. Case Closed, Mondays at 10PM.
Cecil George Kruger, his son Sean Kruger, Abri Buchianeri and Busobenkosi Matera are amongst the abalone smugglers who received the highest sentences for POCA (Prevention of Organised Crime Act) related abalone offences so far in South Africa.
The syndicate processed abalone, operated abalone drying plants and illegally stored and exported it.
They were caught after containers on route to Hong Kong were turned around and after it arrived in Table Bay harbour, 1.6 tons of abalone was found in two containers.
