When a murderer reenacts scenes from Castle’s books, the New York City police department draws in a murder-mystery writer, Richard Castle. #Castle starts tonight at 8:30M.
Upon finding common grounds and reaching agreements with the policing department, Castle shares his insight with Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), the lead detective on the case.
Once the case is solved, Castle realises his interest in Beckett and persuades the mayor to team them up on additional cases.
He somehow manages to convince the mayor that there will be mutual benefits as his skills will help the policing department, while he also gets to benefit with research for his lined-up series of books.
Because of Castle’s behaviour, Beckett objects to the idea but later realise that she is in no position to question the mayor’s decision making.

There are a number of murder scenes under circumstances exactly described in a book written by a prominent and well respected author Richard Castle. Interestingly, the killer is closely related to one of the victims and has gone to killing more people.
At the end of the episode, Captain Montgomery informs Beckett that he has talked with the mayor about letting Castle shadow her.
Can Beckett work with Castle?
