On Sunday night Will Smith stars as Capt. Steven Hiller in the sci-fi action movie Independence Day.
The 45-year-old Golden Globe award-winning actor and producer became famous as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince.
He got the nickname "Prince" because of the way he could charm his way out of trouble.
Will is best known for his role as Will in the television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
His co-star on the sitcom, James Avery, sadly passed away on New Year’s Eve following complications that arose during an open heart surgery. He was 65 years old.
Will paid tribute to Avery this week writing a heartfelt message on his Facebook page: "Some of my greatest lessons in acting, living and being a respectable human being came through James Avery," he wrote.
"Every young man needs an Uncle Phil. Rest in Peace."
