What you missed on The Kingdom: Ukhakhayi

We’ve got all the highlights from last night’s (Tuesday, 5 April) premiere episode of The Kingdom: Ukhakhayi. 

Warning: Contains spoilers!

The show opened with an intense flashback scene. King Zwelakhe’s wife, Nolwazi, gavw birth to a baby boy who the king named Madoda. He announced that the boy will one day be the king of the Bacha tribe, but judging from the look on the midwife’s face, she isn’t very happy about this. 

We learned that to reign as a king, one has to borne by a queen. Nolwazi does not come from royalty, which prevents the passage of her husband's titles and privileges to her children.

When the baby was almost attacked by a snake, it was believed that he was born into evil and to protect him he was sent into hiding.  

In the present time, we then met the paramount Chief, Jezebomvu, who attended the initiation ceremony of the Mpondo King’s youngest son. He made a scene about being seated with the other kings, and it’s clear that nobody likes him. 

In Newcastle a casino was robbed by three armed men. A shootout followed two men were shot and one barely escaped. 

A driver of a private taxi got into his car, only to have a gun stuck to the back of his head. We finally learned that the armed robber was Madoda. And he wanted to get out of the city, fast.
