The late Rhythm Cityactor was remembered in a moving memorial service held on Wednesday at the Hope Restoration Ministries in Edenvale, Johannesburg.
Dumi Masilela passed away on Thursday, 3 Augustafter being shot during an attempted hijacking.
His friends, family and colleagues gathered to remember him.
Rhythm City actors, Siphiwe Mtshali and Connie Tshuma were the programme directors.
Many of Dumi’s entertainment industry colleagues were there.
Dumi was celebrated as a passionate artist who loved what he did.
Dumi’s wife, Simphiwe Ngema said her late husband was perfect.
In a touching tribute to Dumi, Simphiwe said: “What comforts me is the fact that I saw God in Dumi. God lived through him.” She asked the attendees to stand up and praise God, because that is what Dumi would have done.
She went on to say that if God wanted him to live, he would have lived.
Dumi will be laid to rest on Saturday, 12 August.

Park and Ride facilities from Dries Niemand Park, CR Swart Road Kempton Park.
The Park and Ride will take people to the church and then from the church to the cemetery.
NB: Please note that there is no parking at the cemetery. Park and Ride busses will be available.
From the cemetery, the Park and Ride will go back to Dries Niemand Park.
