The long awaited season 3 is finally here. Here’s a sneak peek of tonight’s episode. Umlilo, Mondays 9:30PM.

To refresh your memory, let’s go down memory lane and recap the first two seasons.

Season One: We watched Dumile struggling to stop Khwezi from infiltrating her family, always finding herself one step behind her nemesis.

Season Two: Khwezi and Welcome put their plan for vengeance into action, and Dumile raced to discover their true identity.  At the end, the Simelane family was left in tatters. Cebisile was dead and Andile and Phindi both narrowly escaped death. Mnqobi’s business was ruined, his assets seized and he shot his only remaining wife, Dumile.

And tonight in the season 3 premiere: Dumile wakes in hospital, having lost the baby.  As her memory returns she has to make a difficult decision.  Should she point the finger of blame at Mnqobi for having shot her?  Or should she take the more pragmatic approach and let the world believe it was Khwezi, who is now languishing in jail under her real name, Thembi Kumkani, and facing a long list of charges for what she has done to the Simelane family.

Watch the premiere of Umlilo season 3 tonight at 9:30PM.

5 best moments from Umlilo

Here are 5 best moments from Umlilo’s second episode. Umlilo, Mondays 9:30PM.

1. When Palesa had a drink with Mnqobi.

Mnqobi has been showing signs of affection towards Palesa since he laid eyes on her. The prosecutor tried to keep things professional but that didn’t last long because on last night’s episode we saw Palesa visiting Mnqobi at his house and sharing a drink with him.

2. When Spikiri got Dumile’s dad drunk.

Dumile’s dad came out of nowhere and convinced her to move in with him when she gets discharged. Dumile was reluctant at first because her father has a drinking problem, but he promised her he has changed. Dumile agreed and told Spikiri who obviously wasn’t happy with her decision so he tricked Dumile’s dad to drinking again so that Dumile would move in with him instead.

3. When Thembi seduced Vuyo.

Thembi

Thembi will do anything to not stay in prison for long, including seducing her own lawyer and he’s falling for it.

4. When Thembi beat up her cell mate.

Thembi

Thembi didn’t keep the end of her deal with her cell mate, which included her cleaning her side of the room and waiting in the shower line for her. When her cell mate came into the cell and found it dirty, she flipped and slapped Thembi which made her so mad that she beat up her cell mate till she couldn’t recognise herself.

5. When Andile went to Thembi for help

Andile is changing her identity and who best to ask help from than Thembi herself? Andile is starting to trust Thembi after she overheard Mnqobi confessing to shooting Dumile.

Lerumo

Lerumo had a revelation during Phehello’s memorial and he now believes his brother is still alive. Scandal!, weekdays at 7:30PM.

On Friday, Lerumo received a call from Cohen with news of Phehello’s suicide from an apparent overdose of sleeping pills. Lerumo didn’t take the news too well. He blamed himself for Phehello’s death and thought about having a ceremony for him to appease his emotions.

Last night, Cohen brought back some of Phehello’s belongings to Lerumo who had stayed up all night tormenting himself about his brother’s suicide. The package contained a photograph of Phehello’s mother and one of Lerumo and Phehello together when they were kids. A distraught Lerumo continued to blame himself for Phehello’s suicide saying if he’d believed and forgiven Phehello the victims’ families would’ve found closure.

Later, Anzani, Bra Eddie and Maletsatsi arrived for a memorial service Lerumo organised for his brother. During the ceremony, Lerumo read Phehello’s suicide note out loud and when he got to the part where Phehello requested for his body to be burnt, it jogged a memory in which Phehello requested to be buried next to his mother. Lerumo then came to the realisation that Phehello is still alive.
