Phehello took Anzani hostage and shot Lerumo. Scandal!, weekdays at 7:30PM

It turns out Lerumo was right after all when Phehello suddenly appeared while Anzani was working alone at NFH.

Prior to that, Anzani and Lerumo were at their apartment where they had a huge fight. Anzani threatened to leave Lerumo unless he allowed her to go back to the office alone. Lerumo obliged, but when Anzani arrived at work Cameron received a strange call from IT saying the security cameras would be switched off for a while.

After sneaking up on Anzani, Phehello took her back to the apartment where he shot Lerumo.

Will Lerumo survive?

We’ve got all the highlights from last night’s (Tuesday, 5 April) premiere episode of The Kingdom: Ukhakhayi. 

Warning: Contains spoilers!

The show opened with an intense flashback scene. King Zwelakhe’s wife, Nolwazi, gavw birth to a baby boy who the king named Madoda. He announced that the boy will one day be the king of the Bacha tribe, but judging from the look on the midwife’s face, she isn’t very happy about this. 

We learned that to reign as a king, one has to borne by a queen. Nolwazi does not come from royalty, which prevents the passage of her husband's titles and privileges to her children.

When the baby was almost attacked by a snake, it was believed that he was born into evil and to protect him he was sent into hiding.  

In the present time, we then met the paramount Chief, Jezebomvu, who attended the initiation ceremony of the Mpondo King’s youngest son. He made a scene about being seated with the other kings, and it’s clear that nobody likes him. 

In Newcastle a casino was robbed by three armed men. A shootout followed two men were shot and one barely escaped. 

A driver of a private taxi got into his car, only to have a gun stuck to the back of his head. We finally learned that the armed robber was Madoda. And he wanted to get out of the city, fast.

Jongo is set to make its free-to-air debut on e.tv on Tuesday, 19 April at 8:30PM.

This action packed 16-part series tells the story of a young man who acquires an array of supernatural abilities after his dad leaves him an alien crystal that he found in a cave at the Cradle of Humankind.

Season 1 stars Hip-Hop singer Pacou Mutombo as Eli King and is set in modern-day Johannesburg. The diverse cast comprises well-known faces, such as Luthuli Dlamini, and newcomers, like Katlego Baaitse (who plays Eli’s best friend) and Pauline Zwane (as Eli’s girlfriend).
 
Eli King acquires incredible super powers from an alien crystal. The stone is left to him by his father, an enslaved miner who is murdered shortly after escaping from the cave. Eli tries to deal with the death of his father and is set on finding the men responsible for his death. He also grapples with the powers of the crystal and how it will indelibly alter the course of his life.

Grace took a stand against her own son Romeo and threatened to cut him off if he doesn’t complete his matric. Scandal!, weekdays at 7:30PM

Romeo has made it clear that he doesn’t like Lucas and saw right through his true. In order to secure his potential cash cow, Lucas has been doing everything in his power to find out what kind of hold Romeo really has over Grace.

Last night, Lucas managed to coax Romeo’s cousin Kitso into telling him the truth about where Romeo really was all this time. It turns out, Romeo was never in New York but was in a juvenile detention for rich kids after he lost his temper and assaulted a school mate with a hockey stick. Lucas confronted Grace about his findings and offered his support in disciplining Romeo, but Grace rejected him.

Later, Grace told Romeo that Lucas knows the truth about his past and took a stand against her own son when she told him to finish his matric or risk getting cut off financially. Romeo was far from impressed about the results of Lucas’ interference.

Lerumo has forgiven Anzani for failing to believe him when he insisted Phehello was still alive. Scandal! weekdays at 7:30PM

Lerumo and Anzani have kissed and made up. Not even the return of the Dustbin Man (Phehello) in their lives, could break them even though their marriage had started showing signs of serious strain.

This comes after Phehello faked his suicide, resurfaced to kidnap Anzani and attempted to kill Lerumo. Prior to that, Lerumo insisted that Phehello was still alive but nobody believed him including his boss, detective Cohen, and his wife Anzani. Lerumo has since shot and killed Phehello in self-defence.

Last night, Bra Eddie told Anzani NFH wouldn’t be covering Phehello’s story to protect her and Lerumo.  In turn, Anzani told Bra Eddie that she turned down the Phehello book offer because she wants to focus on fixing her marriage.

Later, Anzani returned to their apartment where she and Lerumo discussed their relationship. She apologised for everything and Lerumo forgave her.

Sabelo finds out the truth about Gadifele’s schemes and puts a gun to her head. Rhythm City weekdays at 7PM.  

Gadifele made contact with Vincent and invited him back into their scheme to steal the children’s RDP house. She got Vincent to agree to kill Sabelo by convincing him that Sabelo is a danger to Mapula and the children.

As Vincent is about to kill Sabelo, he discovers that Sabelo and Gadifele have become lovers. And instead decides to tell Sabelo the truth about Gadi and her plans. Sabelo confronts Gadifele and strangles her. Luckily, Mapula arrives home from school just in time to save her.

Sabelo tells Mapula about what he discovered and kicks Gadifele out of the shack at gunpoint.

Gadifele retaliates by accusing Sabelo of raping her. Will she get away with it?

Tsietsi is shocked when Bab'Nkomonde's muti doesn't help with his court trial. The wedge between Mandlakazi and Selo grows. Mandlakazi berates Mpho for opening the gift from Monwabisi. Reba takes over Tsietsi's office and Damian and Violet butt heads over planning Gog' Joyce's funeral.

Friday

Reba focuses her attention on reviving Namane Funerals and making sure that Tsietsi is not freed. Nokulunga disapproves of Tsietsi’s dalliances with Pinki. Tsietsi receives a mysterious message and Damian encourages Stitch to man-up and take the lead with Reba.

Lucas caught Romeo red handed after he trapped him for cloning credit cards. Scandal!, weekdays at 7:30PM.

There has been a string of incidents regarding credit card fraud at the hotel lately and the latest victim was Layla. After having lunch with Hector at Cole’s she offered to pay, but her credit card was declined.

During one of their meetings, Layla told Lucas that her credit card was cloned and R8000 was stolen. It suddenly dawned on Lucas that the fraud started when Romeo arrived and he told Layla not to tell Grace as he would deal with the matter himself.

Back at the hotel, Lucas convinced Romeo to meet him in his room to discuss how they could make money together. When Romeo arrived Lucas planted his credit card out in the open and pretended he was on the phone in the bathroom. Meanwhile Romeo had a field day with the cloning device and Lucas caught Romeo in the act.

Grace has taken Lucas back after he forced Romeo to put in a good word for him. Scandal!, weekdays at 7:30PM

Last night, Romeo asked Lucas what his agenda was after Lucas failed to tell Grace that Romeo is behind the credit card fraud at the hotel. Lucas made it clear that he has no intention of taking Romeo down, but would rather take him on as his apprentice, on condition that he returns the money he stole from Layla and puts in a good word for him to Grace.

Romeo did as instructed and told Grace that he has decided to turnover a new leaf after a conversation he had with Lucas. Romeo added that he thinks Lucas isn’t that bad after all.  Later, Grace went to Lucas’ hotel room where she apologised and asked if they could give their relationship another try.

A brand new local action drama series, The Alliance, will hit your screens on Wednesday, 27 April at 9:30PM.

The Alliance is a fast-paced eight episode drama series. It depicts the life of a popular kingpin Bra Jay, also known as the Reserve Bank Governor of Soweto. Bra Jay has a thirst for power and rules those around him with an iron fist.

The action drama puts issues such as organised crime, blood diamonds, drug cartels, money laundering and their damning consequences in the spotlight.

It features some of South Africa’s best small and big screen actors. Taking on the role of Bra Jay is Sifiso Simamane. Sifiso is known in the film industry for his creative scriptwriting and directing skills. He produced his first play Inkosi uMpande Kasenzangakhona (“King Mpande, son of Senzangakhona”) which will show at the Stable Theatre this year. Keneilwe Mtidze, previously on Gold Diggers as Nandipha, portrays the role of Evelyn, Bra Jay’s loving wife with a score to settle.  
 
Comedian, Denzel Edgar plays Tsetse who is part of the Alliance. 2014 SAFTA nominee Cebile Mlaba takes on the role of Sis Dee. Adding flair to the stellar cast is the legendary South African movie star Owen Sejake who plays Ofentse.
 
The big question is; can a man with more enemies than friends save his sinking ship?
